Solid Modeling

Solid Modeling provides powerful tools for creating parts using 3D volumes or modifying imported solids. With an easy to use wizard, you can construct 3D solid models by adding or subtracting 3D design features such as extrudes and lofts. You can also fillet multiple faces of a solid by simply selecting the shared edges, and the corners where the fillets meet are automatically blended. Solid Modeling provides unique tools for preparing the model for manufacturing:

Automated surfacing tools for creating parting surfaces

Deleting features from import solid models

The ability to cut a solid with another solid or parting surface

Generation of silhouette curves for parting curves

Automated tools for mold cavity separation

Surface Modeling

Solid Modeling provides an exceptional interface to 3D surface modeling. Surface modeling is part of FeatureMILL3D and is included with the Solid Modeling Option for other FeatureCAM products. Surfaces can be created from curves, from surface primitives, from a single surface or from multiple surfaces.

CAD Tools

Creating parts is easy with FeatureCAM's complete set of CAD tools. Intuitive snapping modes automatically snap points to locations such as intersections, center points and tangent points. With FeatureCAM, you can also reflect part features about an axis by using the transform dialog, making it easy to create right-handed and left-handed parts.
